Marvel Studios has reportedly wrapped principal photography on Avengers: Doomsday, with multiple trade publications publishing what appears to be the film's final cast list overnight.
The Russo Brothers-directed Phase 6 tentpole has been the most-secretive Marvel production in years, with the studio refusing to confirm cast announcements even after they were publicly revealed at San Diego Comic-Con 2024. The reported leak — first published by trade outlets and quickly amplified across social media — suggests the film's ensemble is significantly larger than even Endgame's record-setting roster.
The most-discussed additions: Robert Downey Jr. in his confirmed role as Victor Von Doom / Doctor Doom, the multiverse antagonist replacing Jonathan Majors's Kang the Conqueror as the saga's primary threat. Multiple Fox-era X-Men cast members are reportedly returning, including Hugh Jackman reprising Wolverine following Deadpool & Wolverine, Patrick Stewart as Professor X, and Ian McKellen as Magneto.
The cast list reportedly includes the entire Phase 6 Fantastic Four (Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach), the Thunderbolts* roster, and multiple Phase 4 and Phase 5 ensemble cast members. Notably absent from the reported list: any Tom Holland appearance, which industry watchers attribute to Sony's parallel Spider-Man: Brand New Day shooting schedule.
Marvel Studios has not officially commented on the leak. Industry analysts expect a formal cast announcement at the upcoming D23 Expo in August 2026, with Avengers: Doomsday's theatrical release scheduled for December 2026 followed by Avengers: Secret Wars in December 2027.
