Marvel Studios' Daredevil: Born Again wrapped its eight-episode second season on Disney+ this week, drawing 86% positive critical reception and confirming Charlie Cox's continuing tenure as the MCU's grounded street-level vigilante. Season 3 is already greenlit for March 2027.
The season picked up directly after Matt Murdock / Daredevil's Season 1 declaration of war against Wilson Fisk / Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio) — now the Mayor of New York City. Across the eight-episode run, Cox's Murdock gathered a coalition of street-level allies to resist Fisk's Anti-Vigilante Task Force, the season's primary antagonist organization.
The supporting cast expanded significantly. Returning Season 1 cast members included Vincent D'Onofrio (Fisk), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Margarita Levieva (Heather Glenn), Tony Dalton (Swordsman), and Michael Gandolfini (BB Urich). The season's major new additions: Matthew Lillard as Bullseye, Lili Taylor as a new ally figure, Toby Leonard Moore reprising his Netflix-era Wesley character, and — most-discussed — Krysten Ritter reprising Jessica Jones from her Netflix series. Ritter's Jones cameo confirms the Netflix Marvel-character continuity is fully canonical in the broader MCU.
Critical reception was significantly stronger than Season 1's mixed reviews. Rotten Tomatoes shows 86% positive critics, with the consensus citing "rich substance" and "punchier narrative momentum." The season's structural changes — Marvel Studios rebuilt the show mid-production after creative-direction concerns following Season 1's pilot — appear to have paid off.
Variety reported in September 2025 that Daredevil: Born Again was renewed for Season 3 ahead of Season 2's premiere — an unusual Marvel Studios commitment that reflects confidence in the show's MCU integration value. Season 3 is targeted for March 2027 release. Cox's Daredevil is also confirmed to appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day (July 2026), continuing the character's street-level MCU expansion.
