Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
Movies on Comics ("we," "us," "our") operates the website at https://moviesoncomics.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from visitors, how we use it, and the choices you have about that data. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described below.
We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. The Site collects only the minimum data necessary to operate, measure performance, and serve advertising. We do not sell personal data to third parties.
2. Information we collect
Automatically collected. When you visit the Site, your web browser automatically sends standard log data including IP address, browser type, operating system, the page you requested, referring URL, and timestamp. This is the normal log data that every website on the open internet receives.
Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies and localStorage to remember your preferences (theme choice, watchlist, cookie-consent decision) and to support analytics and advertising features. See our Cookie Policy for full detail on each cookie we use.
What we do not collect. The Site does not require an account, does not have a login system, and does not collect names, postal addresses, phone numbers, or payment information. The only situation where we would receive personal contact details is if you voluntarily email us via the address on our Contact page.
3. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-MBHYHHSRYE) to understand which pages visitors read, how long they stay, what device and browser they use, and what country they connect from. Google Analytics processes this data on Google's servers and provides us aggregated statistics. We do not see individual visitor identities through this service.
Google Analytics may use cookies (named _ga, _ga_*, _gid) to distinguish unique visitors. These cookies expire after 24 months by default. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites by installing Google's official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
For visitors located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we use Google Consent Mode v2. Analytics cookies are not set until you affirmatively accept them through our cookie consent banner. Until consent is given, analytics requests are sent in a privacy-preserving "consent-denied" mode that does not store cookies or fingerprint your device.
4. Google AdSense and advertising partners
Movies on Comics participates in the Google AdSense advertising program (publisher ID ca-pub-1481800789044175). The AdSense verification script is loaded on every page of the Site. Google and its advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and other sites on the internet. Ad units are introduced gradually as AdSense approves and enables placements; you may not see ads on every page yet.
What Google AdSense collects. When ad units render on a page you view, Google and its partners may collect: your IP address (used to infer approximate location, typically city-level), browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring URL, the URL you are currently viewing, time on page, and a unique advertising identifier stored in cookies. Google may combine this with data from your activity on other AdSense-served sites to build an advertising profile used to select ads more relevant to you.
Cookies AdSense and its partners may set. Common AdSense cookies include __gads, __gpi, IDE (Google's DoubleClick advertising cookie), NID, and various session and frequency-capping cookies. Third-party advertising partners participating in the AdSense network may set their own cookies. A full live list of partners is published by Google at support.google.com/admob/answer/9012903.
DoubleClick DART cookie. Google uses the DoubleClick DART cookie to serve advertisements to Site visitors based on visits to this site and other sites on the internet. You may opt out of the DART cookie globally by visiting Google's Ads Settings page or by visiting aboutads.info/choices to manage interest-based advertising across the Digital Advertising Alliance.
Personalized vs. non-personalized ads. If you decline personalized advertising via our cookie banner (or by adjusting your Google Ads Settings), Google may still display non-personalized ads. Non-personalized ads are not based on your prior behavior — they are selected purely from the content of the page you are reading and your approximate geographic location.
EEA, UK, and Swiss visitors (GDPR / TCF v2.2). We use Google Consent Mode v2 in combination with our cookie-consent banner to comply with EU/UK ePrivacy and GDPR requirements. Advertising cookies are not set until you affirmatively accept them. Until consent is given (or if you reject advertising cookies), Google receives a "consent-denied" signal and serves only non-personalized ads. You can revisit your consent choices at any time using the "Cookie Preferences" link in our footer.
California residents (CCPA / CPRA). The "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law may apply to AdSense interactions. You may opt out via the "Cookie Preferences" link or by visiting Google's Ads Settings. We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration outside of standard advertising-network operation.
Children's privacy (COPPA). Movies on Comics is intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. AdSense ads served on our pages are non-personalized when Google detects an under-13 audience signal.
5. Affiliate links — Amazon Associates only
Movies on Comics is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. Some pages on the Site include Amazon product links. If you click an Amazon link and complete a qualifying purchase within Amazon's tracking window, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Amazon link clicks may set first-party tracking cookies controlled by Amazon — these cookies are governed by Amazon's privacy notice, not ours. We do not see, store, or have access to your purchase activity on Amazon; we receive only aggregate commission reports.
Movies on Comics is not currently enrolled in any other affiliate program (no Skimlinks, no Sovrn, no Apple TV affiliate, no JustWatch affiliate, no studio partnerships). If we add additional affiliate programs in the future, this section will be updated.
6. How we use information
We use the data we collect to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Site
- Understand which content visitors find valuable
- Personalize the Site experience (remembering theme preference, watchlist)
- Serve relevant advertising (when consent is given)
- Respond to direct correspondence from visitors
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or abuse
- Comply with applicable law
7. Data sharing
We do not sell or rent personal data. We share data with the following categories of service providers only as necessary to operate the Site:

- Google LLC — for analytics (Google Analytics 4) and advertising (Google AdSense)
- Cloudflare or our CDN — for content delivery and DDoS protection (if applicable)
- Affiliate program operators — Amazon Associates and similar — only when you click an affiliate link
We may also disclose data if required by law, subpoena, or to protect our legal rights and the safety of users.
8. Your rights
For visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland (GDPR): You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data. You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking the "Cookie Preferences" link in our footer. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
For visitors in California (CCPA / CPRA): You have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete it, the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and the right to non-discrimination. We do not sell personal information in the traditional sense. To exercise your CCPA rights, email contact@moviesoncomics.com.
For all visitors: You can clear cookies through your browser's privacy settings at any time. You can opt out of Google Analytics via the official browser add-on linked above. You can opt out of personalized Google advertising at Google Ads Settings.
9. Children's privacy
The Site is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Data security
The Site is delivered over HTTPS with TLS encryption. We rely on our hosting provider and content delivery network for server-side data security. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of data sent to or stored by us.
11. International data transfers
The Site is hosted in the United States. By using the Site from outside the US, you understand and consent that your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Material changes that affect the way we handle personal data will be highlighted at the top of this page for at least 30 days.
